20,000 leagues under they sea concept art

for this pieces of force work we were given a paragraph of text describing the squid/ octopus attacking the nautilus and were give a task of trying to a concept art piece for it.


for this i got a lot of ref rants work so that i could see the styli of the Nautilus and it gave me a strong idea of what my ship should look like. This is what i came up with.

once i had the design for the ship i imported it to photoshop so that i could add the colour to it and try and get the effect that i wanted to get.

 with the nautilus done i then had to think of the styli of the octopus and how it would be attacking the ship. with the text we were given it said that 7 of the 8 tentacle were cut off so i had to take that in to consideration when designing it.

once i designed the octopus i scanned it in then imported it to photoshop to work on the colour.

once i was happy with the colour of the octopus i then placed it together the the nautilus.

this the images placed to gather i need to size them and sort out how things would go. once i was happy with the image i then stated to fork on the sky and the sea. to fit the text i tried to make the sea stormy and the sky grey. i did this on photoshop using the brush tools and my graphics tablet.
